CrossFit Level 1 Certification,
Registered Nurse
I started playing soccer at the age of 4 and tried a variety of other sports throughout my childhood, but soccer remained my favorite. I was on track to attend college on a soccer scholarship when an injury prevented me from pursuing that dream and forced me to look at other routes to attend college. During that season, I found CrossFit and was instantly drawn to all the aspects of sports that it reminded me of: the competition, the community, and the pursuit to be better today than you were yesterday.
Despite finding CrossFit in 2011, I haven't stuck with it for the past 10 years. During that time, I stopped attending classes regularly, wasn't paying attention to my nutrition, and became focused on other things in my life. A few years ago, I decided that my health was something that only I could be in control of. If I wanted a change, I was the only one who could make it happen. I got back into CrossFit in 2018, made fitness and nutrition priorities in my life, and haven't looked back ever since.
The most rewarding aspect of coaching is watching others succeed, whether it's someone's first pull-up, a barbell PR, or simply showing up for their first-ever CrossFit class: all of those moments are victories and I love being part of those moments. There's never a perfect moment to start something new, especially when it comes to fitness. But when someone has the courage to show up, I love being part of their journey to make a change and be better today than they were yesterday.
